MEC is a public high school operating on the Macon campus of Southwestern Community College. The partnership between MEC and SCC is very special, and as such it is a privilege for students to attend MEC. The MEC faculty information and staff take the selection process very seriously. Students and their parents must understand that college and high school staff hold MEC students to higher standard than is common for students at traditional schools. The MEC principal must certify on each student's SCC application that the students possess the academic potential and maturity to attend school on a college campus. The privilege to attend Southwestern Community College and MEC can be revoked at any- time if students do not meet MEC and SCC expectations.
