Macon Middle School is kicking off the Thanksgiving “Give Back” project starting on November 6th running through November 17th. Students will be signing up for an item or items to help fill their homeroom’s box. If you would like to give a monetary donation for this project, please drop it off at the front office. All items collected will be used to create Thanksgiving Boxes for families in our area. Thank you for your support for this worthwhile and much needed project.
MMS will begin after school learning centers on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30. This time can be used for homework completion or extra assistance in any subject. Interested students will need to email Mr. Sutton by the end of first period on the days they would like to attend. Students would need to be picked up by 5:00 to stay for the learning centers and a snack will be provided. Below are the available dates for this quarter. We will reassess the need for the learning center after Christmas.

December 5, 7, 12, 14, 19 and 21
Bus 156 will not run on Friday, September 29th in the PM. Students will ride bus 42 instead.

MMS reminders
Macon County Schools is now accepting lunch applications and meal payments.
If your student attends Cartoogechaye Elementary, East Franklin Elementary, Iotla Valley Elementary, Macon Early College, Macon Middle, Mountain View Intermediate, Nantahala, South Macon, or Union, they will receive meals at no cost as a part of the Community Eligibility Provision for the 2023-2024 school year. We do still encourage meal applications to help your child/children with other eligibilities and to help support the school district.
Macon County Schools is utilizing a new system and parent portal where you can submit meal applications and pay meal fees. Macon County Schools is no longer using lunchapplication.com or K12 Payment Center, and you are now unable to make payments with your old account.
To continue making meal payments, please create a new account at https://www.linqconnect.com
You may also submit meal applications through LINQ Connect for the current school year.
MMS is in need of kleenex tissues. If you would like to purchase some it would be much appreciated. Your student can drop them off at the office on Wednesday. Thank you.

Reminder for Franklin area schools (with the exception of Macon Early College): Monday, October 31, 2022 and Tuesday, November 1, 2022 are scheduled workdays for the Franklin area. There will be no school for students. Students will return on Wednesday, November 2, 2022.
