All FHS 11th grade students will take the ACT on March 12th. Below are a few reasons this test should be important to you. You can see that this is a great opportunity to be able to prepare and take the ACT without the usual fee.
Some colleges still do optional test scoring. Many do, however, require ACT scores if GPA is lower than that college's expectation. Our current 11th grade class should expect these scores to be required as part of the application process.
Students planning to enroll with 2-yr schools can also benefit from meeting benchmark scores on the ACT. ACT scores can help you avoid remedial courses and can gain admissions for professional programs you might apply to.
Most scholarship opportunities include ACT scores in the decision making process.
Students pursuing a career in the military will be required at some point to produce ACT scores. Particular branches may require a minimum composite score.
While the ACT can be retaken to improve scores, this is the only opportunity they have to take it for free.
Even if a student plans to pursue a path in which they don't see the obvious benefit from having solid ACT scores, having them will keep those doors open for the future.
Below is a schedule for Free Content Review Sessions at FHS starting Feb. 24th!
Morning Sessions are from 7:15 to 8:00
Afternoon Sessions are from 3:15 to 4:00.

🏀 Huge Thanks to Coach Bradley! 🏀
With the Mountain Seven Conference Tournament wrapped up, we want to take a moment to give a big shoutout to our FHS Athletic Director, Coach Matt Bradley (even though we know he’ll make us take this down).
Not many people understand the behind-the-scenes effort it takes to host an event of this scale—especially with the added challenges of ongoing construction. Coach Bradley made sure that fans, athletes, officials, and coaches had an incredible experience, from creating an electric atmosphere to ensuring hospitality and safety for everyone involved.
Of course, he had help from many others, and while we won’t list names for fear of missing someone, please know your efforts did not go unnoticed. Thank you!
The tournament was a huge success, with a packed Panther Den, all four Panther Basketball teams reaching the finals, and THREE bringing home conference tournament championships!
Coach Bradley, thank you for your dedication to our student-athletes and FHS. Your hard work might often go unnoticed, but we see and appreciate all that you do!
🐾 #PantherPride

Congratulations to both our JV and Varsity Basketball Teams for making it to the Mountain 7 Conference Finals!
Our JV Boys, JV Girls, and Varsity Girls, all finished as Conference Tournament Champions in fantastic games.
Our Varsity Boys fought hard in a heartbreaking loss to #1 and undefeated East Henderson, but their effort and determination were commendable.
It was a great night in the den, and we are proud of our student-athletes and coaches.
Additionally, we had six players named to the All-Tournament Team:
• Varsity Girls: Aubrey Haley, McKenna Plemmons, and Tournament MVP Bristol Brooks, who had an outstanding 33-point performance.
• Varsity Boys: Max McClure, Will Rauers, and Jack Jack Teesateski.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped out ensuring the conference tournament was a successful event for student athletes and fans.
